Highway 29 Gateway Corridor Improvement Plan
The Napa Highway 29 Gateway Corridor Improvement Plan includes a vision plan and an implementation plan to enhance transportation performance and support community goals along State Highway 29—one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most congested corridors. The project’s “Complete Streets” approach addresses all modes of travel: car, truck, bicycle, on foot, and by transit. Bus performance improvements will be made between the project’s north and south ends, Napa’s Transit Center and Vallejo’s San Francisco ferry terminal, to make transit faster, more reliable, and better used. And boulevard cross-sections are being considered in some locations to establish pedestrian-oriented mixed-use centers. The Implementation Plan recommends transportation improvements and programs within the corridor to deliver context-sensitive solutions that promote the community vision.
