Gilbert, AZ Land Development Code Update

The Town of Gilbert retained Dyett & Bhatia to undertake a comprehensive revision of the Uniform Land Development Code to implement ‘Smart Growth’ legislation, streamline the approval process, provide maximum flexibility in development administration, and reduce administrative costs. The new code included extensive use of tables and graphic illustrations to make it user-friendly. The update process was initiated in September 2000 and included outreach to stakeholders, analysis of project plans and recent development projects, and testing of regulatory options. The Code was adopted in 2005 after a City-led review process.
