Brisbane Baylands Community Plan, Brisbane, CA

The Baylands is a largely vacant 660-acre brownfield site in a prime location adjacent to Highway 101, and includes a Caltrain station. Planning for the site has to reconcile issues related to soil and water contamination from landfill operations, conserve environmental resources, and foster community cohesion and identity.

Dyett & Bhatia was part of the team retained by the City to prepare the Environmental Impact Report on the Brisbane Baylands Specific Plan, with lead responsibility for developing alternatives and a community-based Preferred Plan for the EIR and the Specific Plan. Dyett & Bhatia also led extensive community outreach to prepare the Preferred Plan, and developed a 3-D computer model of the area and provided visualizations from numerous vantage points.

Adopted 2013
