Alameda County Residential Design Guidelines

The Illustrated Design Standards and Guidelines focus on residential typologies that respect the physical character of the existing unincorporated communities in Alameda County. Extensive analysis was conducted regarding the unique features of existing properties, including long deep lots that are the legacy of chicken farms, recently constructed projects, and existing County standards. Draft standards and regulations address a range of topics including building form and massing, scale, open space, and relationship to the public realm and have been refined through their application on typical development sites and through review by community members.

Adopted 2013
