Planners (Senior and Junior)
DYETT & BHATIA, Urban and Regional Planners, (www.dyettandbhatia.com) is looking for planners to join our collegial, dynamic team, committed to place-based planning and excellence. Our office is located in the historic Jackson Square District in downtown San Francisco, easily reached by transit.
Positions
We are looking to fill several positions because of continued growth. Positions are available at junior and senior level, and offer opportunities to work on leading-edge work throughout California and the Southwest, and career advancement.
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Comprehensive Planning. Responsibilities will include all aspects of general and specific plan work, including research and analysis, preparing plans, workshop facilitation, and project coordination. Additional experience in housing, urban design, or environmental planning desirable.
- Environmental Review. Environmental review of general plans, specific plans, regional transportation plans, and other programs. Development of environmental policies for plans. Candidates should have prior experience in preparing EIRs and expertise with CEQA.
- Zoning. Dyett & Bhatia is a national leader in preparation of comprehensive zoning and development regulations. Candidates must enjoy zoning work, bring a solid grasp of legal and technical underpinnings of zoning, and have demonstrated ability in code writing. Experience in administering zoning and development regulations (such as by working at a city) is desirable. Urban design expertise and understanding of built form is a plus.
The position is open until filled. All positions require a graduate degree in urban planning or a closely related field, and prior consulting experience. Candidates with several years of experience and project management skills are welcome to apply and will be considered for senior-level appointment.
