Dyett & Bhatia's work with the City of Concord represents a long term relationship and commitment to successful planning outcomes for the community. Dyett & Bhatia updated the City's General Plan and prepared a Program EIR. The General Plan examined infill opportunities, greater linkages between BART and the City, and possibilities for reuse of the Concord Naval Weapons Station, one of the largest single development sites in the Bay Area. The General Plan Update involved extensive community outreach to unique issues and needs. The General Plan was adopted in October 2007.

The Zoning Ordinance update is underway and includes comprehensive revisions to subdivision regulations, grading standards, environmental review procedures and related land use regulations and procedures to the existing Zoning Ordinance, adopted in 1953. D&B is starting from ground up to update the Zoning Ordinance to ensure General Plan, consistency, and ease of use and administration.

Additionally, D&B was also asked to prepare new Housing Element for the City. The new Housing Element includes extensive background information, in accordance with State law requirements, as well as updated policies and programs to guide the City's housing development and resource allocation through 2014. The Housing Element Update includes outreach designed for substantial spanish-speaking community. The Housing Element was adopted in 2009.
