The Countywide Transportation Plan outlines a vision for the County’s transportation system for the year 2025. It seeks to better link the sub-regions of the County, support the development of job-centers near affordable housing, and achieve a greater balance of jobs and housing within the sub-regions. It also promotes enhanced operational strategies that encourage alternatives to single-occupancy vehicle trips, including intermodal transfer stations, enhanced pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and greater use of vanpools, bus and rail transit, and telecommuting. D&B also is helping update the Plan’s Growth Management Program and assisting on public outreach, designing display boards, PowerPoint presentations, and preparing summary information on the 2004 update.
